Monaco Yacht Show 2015 :

A REMARKABLE 15TH EDITION OF THE FRASER YACHTS
CAPTAINS’ DINNER AND AWARDS

Tuesday 28th September 2015

The 15th edition of the Fraser Yachts Captains’ Dinner took place on Thursday September 24th at the Monaco Yacht Club and welcomed over 400 guests. One of the most talked about events of the Monaco Yacht Show, the annual Captains’ Dinner & Awards is held every year to thank the Captains and crew who work so hard for their guests throughout
the year.

The event saw the 2015 Charter Captain of the Year Award go to Rob Shelnut of M/Y LADY SARA, the crew and Captain of M/Y LATITUDE Paul Bickley won the award for Best Charter Crew (yacht over 50m) and the crew and Captain Guy Booth of M/Y AURELIA won the award for Best Charter Crew (yacht under 50m). The Awards were presented by Roberto
Giorgi, Chairman of Fraser Yachts and guest of honour, Captain Nick Sloane, the salvage master who successfully raised the Costa Concordia in 2014.

This year also saw the introduction of a new award, the Roberto Migliaccio Award, in honour of the late Fraser Yachts Technical Superintendent Roberto Migliaccio which will see a Captain, employee or someone working closely with Fraser Yachts awarded for their outstanding level of service, loyalty and dedication. The winner of the first Roberto
Migliaccio Award for Service and Dedication was Ferdinando Tarquini, Captain of M/Y FORCE BLUE, who has worked for the same yacht and owner for over ten years.

The award was presented by guest of honour Regina Catrambone, a lady who has shown great loyalty and dedication to the refugee crisis in Syria. Co‐founder of MOAS – the Migrant Offshore Aid Station, Regina and her husband bought a 40m expedition vessel and equipped it with life‐saving detection equipment and medical facilities to rescue refugees from the Mediterranean Sea. Last year they saved over 3,000 lives in just 60 days, this year they have saved over 9,000 lives so far.

The event was generously sponsored once again by a number of companies, many of them long standing partners for several years. Ulysse Nardin sponsored the main prize for the winning Captain, a Marine Chronometre Manufacture watch. Other prizes included a Behind the Scenes Mercedes Experience courtesy of Mercedes‐Benz, 2 weeks free berthing from Port Adriano, a Phantom Devialet Speaker from DIVA and a Bond Poker Set by Ralph Lauren courtesy of Boutsen Design.

The winning crews (over and under 50m) each received a 1,000 USD travel voucher from Global Marine Travel, 2 weeks free berthing at Port Adriano, a Jeroboam from VSF, a private cinema experience courtesy of DIVA, a weekend car hire from rent‐a‐car, a division of Agents, and a silver platter from the Monaco Yacht Club, with the winning crew over
50m also receiving 3Mb dedicated VSAT bandwidth for ten days in the Mediterranean or Caribbean courtesy of Orbis Yacht.

After the awards ceremony guests were treated to a delicious hot and cold buffet and overflowing cocktail bar, entertainment including a gypsy band, flamenco dancer, DJ and saxophonist and the legendary Port Adriano Fun Parade.

Numerous other sponsors also contributed to the over flowing goodie bags and animations on the evening, and a special thank you goes to everyone involved:

Majesty 135 Port Hercules Monaco (1)

Monaco, 28 September 2015 – Gulf Craft’s display of the Majesty 135 mesmerized visitors at the Monaco Yacht Show last week, drawing in crowds to experience the largest superyacht the award-winning shipyard has ever showcased in Europe.

Emanating innovation and unequivocal luxury, the presentation of Gulf Craft’s 41-meter (Majesty 135) superyacht at the region’s premier yachting event is just one example of the yacht and boat builder’s persistent determination to meet and exceed the ever-evolving expectations of its discerning customers.

“We believe that making it in this fiercely competitive market ultimately depends on how well you understand your customers, and so as our client needs and requirements evolve, so do we,” said Erwin Bamps, Gulf Craft CEO.

“Our presence at global yachting events is not only about showcasing our capabilities, but also connecting with existing and prospective customers to complement our next creations. We do not rest on our laurels at Gulf Craft – it’s always about moving forward and developing the next plan to intrigue and impress our passionate customers.”

TANKOAI TALIAN YACHTS

AT MONACO YACHT SHOW

tNDQHiRE8G5zIpMdjaankSwi25Oy_uoUPGZDR6gP_9I

Tankoa Yachts and Yacht-Ology, Michel Karsenti's company, after the impeccable launch of project S693 now known as “Suerte”, have the pleasure to disclose the very first images of the yacht running in front of Portofino bay.
Suerte will be officially introduced to the public and the yachting industry on the occasion of the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show.
Built for one of Karsenti's loyal clients, construction of this first yacht of 69.30 meters has been carried out on schedule, notwithstanding the numerous upgrades decided by the client in conjunction with the shipyard.
Tankoa Yachts – the “boutique shipyard” based in Genoa – and its global sales and marketing agent, Yacht-Ology are particularly proud of the launch dated 25th June 2015. As soon as Suerte reached the water, she has shown a perfect balance with zero degree lateral inclination and a draft only one centimeter off our calculation. From July 1st until the late August, M/Y Suerte is undertaking its sea trials, technical tests, stability tests, and all necessary Class endurance runs. Yacht will be ready for final delivery end of August 2015. The yacht will then sail to the Cote d’Azur after all the owner’s supplies and toys have been safely installed onboard.
Completion of the interiors are 95% done and the final touch ups are being done to her warm minimalist interiors by Margherita Casprini from Francesco Paszkowski’s design studio.

D8FIotZHqCYI0LKi-rb4IL3acZtadRSM8v0VUOnRQGM

Karsenti commented right after the first sea trials: “We are really thrilled with the results right off the first sea trials. According to the contractual specification, the top speed was to be 16.5 knots at half load. Like any other builder, our performances are to be obtained by calm sea with 5 knots wind. A first sea trial always require a lot of organization and it happened that on the programmed date, we had a solid 2 to 2.5 meter swell with wind blowing from 18 up to 35 knots in gusts and we still decided to go. The 7 to 8 hours sea trial was just terrific! We reached top speed in excess of 18 knots with a load close to 70 percent. Not only that, our 5,500 NM range was to be obtained at 12 knots. We will have the 5,500 Nautical Mile contractual range at 14 knots, which makes a true difference when going across the Atlantic. Vibrations are inexistent and sound level is already in line with our specs without loose furniture nor decoration having been installed. The project simply exceeded all our wildest expectations! A happy owner will be our best reward! I am very proud of the Yacht-Ology / Tankoa association has this shipyard as a true winning technical team and I can only admire the rigor, professionalism and expertise of the management team including Euro Contenti, Edoardo Ratto, Renzo Chelazzi and Andrea Parodi. I, too, remained deeply impressed with the work of Naval Architect, Professor Ruggiero whose experience is second to none and by Albert McIlroy, the owner’s surveyor commitment to built the best boat.”

BiCNUQziPeXJvRp_EyoOyLMm9eTvsyjNSodBKIBSoF0

In September, Tankoa Yachts will see the deck and superstructure of the first 50 meter enter the shed under code name S501. Outfitting work will immediately start after engines and main technical equipment have been installed onboard while work on S701, a close sistership to Suerte will resume at the same time.

Save the date – Monaco Yacht Show 2015
Tankoa’s will organize more events which will take place during the MYS 2015 to be able to spend more time with its followers. One of these will be very exclusive with a true culinary surprise…..stay tuned!

ABOUT TANKOA YACHTS

kzWADzsUdPdsWCq9wVO-7cKwSLABN6o1IJXWQ_4eV6E

TANKOA Yachts is a project born late 2008, thanks to a very competent team of managers and investor already involved in the yachting industry, and with a long professional history of successes. Since its inception, TANKOA Yachts' business plan is based on a new philosophy of yacht construction. “Boutique Shipyard” are the most accurate words to describe TANKOA's philosophy, a top quality shipyard focused on yachts ranging mainly from 50 to 90 meters. Limited production, attention to details, use of the latest technologies, precision, rich specifications, ethics and emphasis on Italian building excellence are just a few of TANKOA's values. TANKOA Yachts has opted for “a multi-cultural approach of yacht construction” by integrating various criteria. At TANKOA, the management team is proud to have successfully merged business ethics, high quality precision engineering, and Italian DNA in design and flexibility.

Two experienced and well-known professionals were deeply involved from the first steps of this fascinating industrial history: world renown and respected designer Francesco Paszkowski and naval architect Professor Vincenzo Ruggiero. They are working together on the first two yachts of 70 meters, following TANKOA's philosophy guidelines in yacht construction, based on a total custom production where quality, exclusivity, precision and reliability are the main focuses.
