Monaco Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (AMM)

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a rare genetic illness that affects boys: one birth in 3500.

Although research has progressed significantly over the last ten years, notably with the tremendous gains in genetic therapy and thanks to the efforts of charity organizations, there remains a lot to do in order to find a cure for these children.

The Monaco Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (AMM) was created in 2001 by parents of children suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy who decided to support progress on scientific and medical research.

The Monaco Yacht Show supports the AMM by giving to the Association 50 % of the entrance fees and by organizing the Only Watch biannual auction.

Foundation Prince Albert II of Monaco

For 2010, the MYS has decided to join forces with the Foundation Prince Albert II of Monaco and increase the yachting community awareness of the deforestation issue.

This new cooperation highlights Monaco’s priority to set up international projects for protecting wood. The MYS will closely follow their realizations as a financial support, involved in a constant research to decrease its environmental impact.

The natural rapprochement between the two entities takes root in 2006 when His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco chose the world #1 superyacht event to present His Foundation to the major actors of the yachting industry.

The MYS is committed in international environmental projects since 2005 and every single action of the show takes into consideration the fragility of our planet: printings on recycled papers, sorting recyclables within the show venue, the support of fair-trade and the use of organic cotton to produce its clothing collection.
